This fella used ot be called Gorgosaurus and was from the Late Cretaceous Period. Albertosaurus lived about 66-98 million years ago in America and Asia. His head and mouth were very large, in comparison to the rest of him. His teeth were large and razor sharp.
His long tail helped to balance his 10 metre (30ft) long body His height was about 4 metres (12ft) and he was definitely a carnivore. He may have been a hunter, but scientists are starting ot believe that he may well have been a scavenger. A scavenger will pick up the left over scraps that other hunters have left, or even (as may well be the case with Albertosaurus) chase off the predator who killed the prey, and steal it for himself. he was just like a smaller Tyrannosaurus and existed a little earlier than T-Rex. |
