Sabre Tooth Tiger
Sabre Toothed tiger had 15cm (6 inch) Fangs, to lock into his prey and kill them. They roamed the Earth from 2,500,000 yrs ago and only died out 10,000 yrs ago.
Although he was fierce, it's doubtfull he was very fast. Trying to sink those huge teeth into large, fast moving prey could easily damage them, or even break them off, if a hunt went wrong. Therefore, he probably lived off smaller, slower, or even injured animals, such as Sloths, infant Mammoths, Bison, Deer etc.
Basically, if you were a slow moving 9for any reason), small to medium size animal, you were in trouble .... this guy was out looking for someone just like you. He probaly just sank his teeth into the throat of his victim, then waited for them to die, rather than jumping about and risking breaking a tooth (a tooth ache could be a serious problem for a Sabre Toothed tiger).
