Humbolt Squid
Known to fishermen as Red Devils
This video shows how a New Zealand Fisherman became so interested in the Giant Squids in his country, that he decided to capture and study them.
These amazing sea creatures can grow up to huge lengths. Sometimes a Giant Squid will be as long as a lorry (13 metres / 40 feet) in length (including the tentacles)
Giant Squid have been proven to attack Sharks and Whales, many times their own size. It appears they will attack more or less anything which moves.
With the changing climate, these squid may soon appear on a beach near you. So don't go in too deep !
